We all have a story. Yes, you have a story too, and as we weave our stories together by sharing them with one another, a beautiful tapestry of hope breathes a fresh wave of strength and perseverance into the weary heart and mind.
Did you know the words you speak are powerful and bring you life or death? This is not a metaphor. Whether you believe in God or not, be aware that the words you speak are bits of energy that take on form and happen. My belief in God and the power of the spoken word is part of our story and how "I See Myself Well®" started.
On June 26,1987, my oldest son, Brad, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia-stage 3/ALL3, the rarest form of Leukemia. I was told that if we had not bring him in when we did, he would have been dead in a week. Brad became a test subject for treatments since the survival rate was zero. After 5 months of treatments I awoke to the smell of death. I got down on my knees and prayed, acknowledging that my son belonged to God and I thanked Him for choosing me to be Brad’s mother. Then I rushed my son to the hospital. After they ran some tests the doctor delivered the results. The cancer had gone to the brain and there was now no hope of recovery.
In that moment, I heard the Lord whisper to me. He said that HOPE was a Heavenly Opportunity Promised Everyday. My faith rose and I turned around and I said, "Dr. Salvi, my Lord told me there is hope". With compassion in his eyes he shared that he had no survivors, that this was a very aggressive cancer and that now, with it crossing into the brain, Brad was terminal. He thought I did not understand, but he was the one that did not understand. This was not some mental or emotional declaration. God had given me hope that I would see my son well, and that is what we would speak into our circumstance!
HOPE REALIZED!
Brad had already endured a regimen that consisted of spinal chemotherapy and IV drip every other week for 18 months. Now, he would receive 800 rads of radiation to the brain for 14 days. Brad went into remission within 3 days. Dr. Salvi wanted Brad to have a bone marrow transplant. I prayed a simple prayer that day, “Lord, if we do not match, I will take that as a sign Brad is healed.” No match! Dr. Salvi wanted to find a donor, but I believed when Brad and I prayed that day the Lord heard our prayer and healed him.
We are so thankful for the power of the spoken word and that someone told us to always say I SEE MYSELF WELL®! And we have been using these words ever since! And Dr. Salvi…? “Well,” he said, “Brad is truly a miracle!” That 1% that survived! He said our faith was, and still is, incredible. Yes, Brad is a walking, living testimony that miracles happen! My HOPE for you, is when you hear a doctor tell you there is no more hope that you will remember this story! That this story can be yours too!
In November of 1987, Dr. Salvi told me my son was terminal, but God whispered to me that day and told me what HOPE was. He still whispers to me today!

Dr. Salvi retired in 2019. We absolutely love him and continue to connect with him. His compassion towards the children was, and still is, evident in his life and the life of his wife and children. He made sure there was music, Nintendo games, outings, parties, a therapist, and meetings we could all be a part of to support each other.
